| 8/17/06 | The Achordants announce: Fall Auditions 2006 A new school year means vacancies within the Achordants! We're looking for a few good men who can contribute to the campus a cappella community. If you're interested in auditioning, be sure to visit our table at Fall Fest! After that, you can visit us in the pit once classes start between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. We'll be more than happy to talk with you about the Achordants, the audition process, how to prepare, a cappella, life at Carolina, or anything else you may wish to discuss. If you can't make it to the pit at those times, you can also sign up by finding our auditions folder at the Resource Hub in the Student Union (near the drinking fountains on the right as you enter). | 5/14/06 | Another wonderful year has come to an end, and the Achordants would like to bid a fond farewell to five singers who are moving on to do great things. The group will never be the same without Alex Barnes, Yuri Broze, Dan Cordaro, Matt Mullane, and Brad Phillis. You will all be sorely missed! The Achordants are already planning to hit the studio again in mid-May as they begin work on their second album. |

| 11/06/05 | Happily, the 5th Annual 50th Anniversary Comeback etc. concert went off swimmingly! Friday night sold out to standing room only, and we are very grateful to have such a wonderful, supportive audience. Thanks to all those who came, to the Chiefs of Staff, THV, Carolina Tech, Achordalumns, and anybody else who has helped us this semester. See you next spring! Oh yeah, one more thing! Matt "The King" Mullane has been OFFICIALLY crowned homecoming king for 2005! We don't know how he did it, but we're happy to see one of our own be successful. Congrats Matt! |

Congratulations to Kevin Wenzel, Achordant number 35! We would like to express our thanks to everyone who auditioned this fall semester; the talent pool grows larger and larger with every round of auditions, making each decision tougher than the one before. | 5/2/05 | We're back from our New York trip, with plenty of fun had by all. Although we did not place, congratulations are in order for Yuri, who took home the Outstanding Arrangement caption award for Mala Gente! Although the judges didn't smile on the Achordants this time, Alice Tully Hall in the Lincoln Center was a joy to sing in, especially filled to its 1100 person capacity. We all walked off the stage with smiles on our faces for a job well done; we definitely showed people a taste of how we do things here at UNC. Thanks to Hotchkiss for providing space to rehearse, perform, and of course for providing us with Fenty. BIG thanks also to the Zelmans, Haley Swindal, and Brian Fenty for getting us fed, watered, warm at night, and entertained during the day. You guys went FAR beyond the call of duty, and we can't express our gratitude enough! The Achordants will go into the studio yet again on May 11; wish us luck! |

| 4/3/05 | The Achordants are ready to announce: Choose Your Own Adventure: Murder Mystery A Cappella Our Spring concert is definitely NOT an occasion to be missed! We've been working hard to bring you the finest in a cappella entertainment this Spring, with guest appearances from Duke's Deja Blue, and UNC's own Loreleis and Harmonyx! Tickets will be available in the pit daily from 10:00 until 2:00 starting April 6th. For reservations (available for $5 at the door), please email achordantstix@unc.edu and include your name and the night for which you wish to reserve tickets. There is no assigned seating in Gerrard Hall, and all reservations will be canceled at 8:59 PM, so plan accordingly. This promises to be our most ambitious endeavor yet, so be sure to mark your calendars. We'll see you there! |
| 4/3/05 | ***BIG NEWS!!!*** We are pleased to announce that the Achordants have been named South Regional Champions in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella!! In addition to receiving first place in the competition with 366 points, we earned the Best Arrangement caption award for Yuri's "Mala Gente"! Needless to say, we are very excited, and will be competing at the International Finals in New York City against the other five Regional Champions. For more information, visit the ICCA Website.
