Founded in the spring of 2001, the Achordants formed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a mission to entertain and to promote the message of diversity through music. Using tight harmonies and a lighthearted appeal that pleases any audience, the group's diverse repertoire, ranging from gospel to Scottish folksongs, is a reflection of the group members' individuality. In the Spring of 2005, the Achordants became the South Regional Champions at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, securing them a spot on the stage of NYC's Lincoln Center. The group, however, never loses sight of its mission statement, and continues to hold a rich tradition of advocating charitable causes. Perhaps most importantly, the Achordants believe that the key to collegiate a cappella is to have fun, and to not take oneself too seriously!

12/11/10	As the semester comes to a close, we reflect on a great semester, and look forward to the spring! The Achordants have three bits of information we'd like to share: 1) Be on the look out for a Winter Auditions announcement over the break! 2) The Achordants are no longer competing in the ICCA Quaterfinals. However, you can still catch us since... 3) We have a special Spring Concert coming up - our 10^th Anniversary Concert! The dates are set for April 1^st and 2^nd. Be sure to mark your calendars!

3/24/10	The A Cappella Blog just announced that our rendition of Hide and Seek was voted the favorite of their readers. A huge thanks goes out to all those who voted for us, and to the ACB for nominating us in The Run Off! 1/24/10	After much discussion, the Achordants have selected two new members for the group! We'd like to congratulate our newest members: Evan Doyle - Baritone Daniel Heyward - Baritone The Achordants would like to thank everyone who came out and auditioned! It was an very tough process since there were many more qualified singers than there were spots available, and since there weren't many spots to fill in the first place. 1/3/10	Two updated announcements! First of all, the Achordants are pleased to announce that we will be having WINTER AUDITIONS in the month of January. The exact dates will be posted as soon as possible! In addition, the finishing touches are being made to our third studio album, A Refreshing Glass of OJ and you can expect to see it shipping in the next month!
